Tactical Tracking Operations Course
This Tactical Tracking Operations course is designed to train individuals and units to track and pursue armed targets efficiently and safely. Participants will learn to follow signs, or "spoor," left by a quarry and close the time-distance gap, all while maintaining tactical awareness. The course includes both classroom instruction and daily field exercises, where students will develop their tracking skills as part of a team. Additionally, live fire exercises will train participants in immediate action drills, preparing them to react to enemy contact situations while tracking.
Key areas of focus include soldier safety, situational and security awareness, and the ability to acquire, identify, and interpret signs left by the quarry. Participants will also learn how to read the age of a sign, recover lost tracks, and move tactically as part of a combat tracking team. Advanced land navigation skills will be incorporated throughout the course, ensuring students are prepared for a variety of tracking scenarios in complex environments.

Overview: This course has been designed to train individuals and units in tactical tracking operations. The instructional goal is to train students to follow signs left by an armed quarry, primarily as a member of a tracking team, fast enough to tactically close the theoretical time distance gap. Students will receive classroom instruction and participate in daily field tracking team exercises as well as live fire exercises are also conducted to train the tracking team in immediate action drills to overcome enemy contact situations. And advanced land navigation while tracking.
Specific areas of emphasis include: soldier safety, situational and security awareness; acquiring and identifying the sign / spoor left by the quarry; reading and interpreting the age of the sign and any action indicators left by the quarry; moving tactically and tracking as a member of a combat tracking team; finding lost tracks; reacting to different situations involving the quarry.
