KNIFE DESCRIPTION:
Introducing the Spirit Knife, the first blade in our Mountainside Mettle Series – a collaborative masterpiece born from the expertise of The Survival University team. Crafted for the everyday tasks of bushcrafting and outdoor adventures, this knife seamlessly blends functionality with precision.
Designed by a team of seasoned experts, The Spirit Knife boasts a 4.75-inch blade made from 1095 high carbon steel. This choice of material not only ensures durability but also allows for the creation of sparks using flint in survival situations. Spearheading the design is Jason Marsteiner, owner of The Survival University, renowned for his extensive knowledge in wilderness survival.
Joining forces with Marsteiner is Ruben Rodriguez Jr., the blade specialist with a martial arts background, particularly in knives and swords for combat. His passion for knives is evident in every aspect of the Spirit Knife’s design. Jason Breeden, our esteemed knife architect, rounds out the trio, bringing 30 years of manufacturing experience, with 25 years of designing for the most renowned manufacturers in the knife industry. His extensive background uniquely positions him as a key contributor to the exceptional design of the Spirit Knife..
The Spirit Knife features a carefully curved belly of the blade, facilitating easy feather sticking, and a drop point for effortless carving of notches and holes in wood. The Sabre grind and 90-degree spine add versatility, ensuring the knife is up to any challenge. The full tang construction ensures strength and stability, while the pommel of the handle boasts a scraper for tinder creation.
Crafted by the reputable Condor Knife and Tool Company, the Spirit Knife comes with a Black Kydex and Cardura (Ambidextrous) sheath. What sets it apart are the two Expandable Ferro Rod Holders, accommodating rods with diameters ranging from 3/8” to 1/2”. The Kydex sheath is intentionally designed for modification, recognizing that personal preferences vary.
Notably, the Spirit Knife’s handle is a testament to the thoughtful design process undertaken by our team. Unlike many bushcraft knives designed for minor whittling, our handle is crafted with functionality in mind. Recognizing the practicalities of heavy knife work, we’ve ensured the handle is comfortable for hammer-fist gripping during strenuous tasks. This focus on real-world usage sets the Spirit Knife apart, ensuring it feels as good in your hand during hard work as it looks on display.
