In this hands-on, 3-hour class, Hutch will teach you and your family the skills you need to confidently navigate the outdoors. Whether you are exploring a local trail or planning a longer adventure, this class will give you the tools to find your way.
Throughout the class, you will learn valuable skills such as:
- Compass basics and how to use one
- Navigating with and without a map and compass
- How to navigate with a compass but no map
- How to navigate with a map but no compass
- Techniques for navigating without any gear
- How to stay “lost-proof” and avoid getting turned around
- The basics of self-mapping to help you keep track of your location
- When it is okay to leave a trail
- Leave No Trace principles to protect the environment
This class is perfect for families who want to spend quality time outdoors while learning practical skills that are fun and useful. The base price is $75 for a child and adult pair, with an additional $10 for each extra child or adult in the family.
