Tactical Mountain Mobility Course

$895.00

Tactical Mountain Mobility Course is a 3-day, team based training program focused on military style rope systems and coordinated movement over steep, broken terrain. Students learn to establish anchors, manage fixed lines, conduct vertical and hasty rappels, and move efficiently as a group while carrying tactical equipment. The course culminates in a field exercise that integrates terrain assessment, rope operations, and team decision making in a structured reconnaissance scenario.

Description

Basic Tactical Mountain Mobility

The 3-Day Basic Tactical Mountain Mobility course is designed for individuals who want to move confidently and efficiently over steep, broken terrain as part of a team. This program is rooted in military mountain mobility principles and differs significantly from civilian recreational mountaineering.

Students learn how to operate on near vertical and vertical terrain while managing equipment, communication, and team movement under realistic field conditions. The focus is not technical climbing. The focus is mobility, rope systems, and disciplined execution in complex terrain.

Over three days, students build on core rope fundamentals and apply them using tactical equipment and load carriage considerations. Instruction covers safety principles, rope and gear management, essential knots, anchor selection and building, fixed rope systems for ascending near vertical terrain, hasty rappelling, vertical rappelling techniques, and belay methods adapted to tactical movement.

Unlike civilian rappelling clinics, this course addresses how multiple personnel move through difficult terrain, how rope systems are established and managed in a team environment, and how terrain impacts mission planning and execution.

The final day includes a structured field exercise where students employ the techniques learned in a mock reconnaissance scenario. The emphasis is on decision making, coordination, and efficient movement rather than speed or competition.

All rope systems and technical training equipment are provided by TSU. Students may bring personal equipment for inspection and approval prior to use. Students are responsible for their own tactical gear and loadout.

This course is limited in size to ensure close supervision, repetition, and proper integration of techniques in a team environment.
