Wild Women’s Rewilding Retreat
Nature immersion, practical learning, and connection with Jess Caldwell
Set down your usual routines and spend time learning in the outdoors with a community of women. The Wild Women’s Rewilding Retreat is a multi-day educational field experience led by Jess Caldwell, founder of Wildkind Outdoors and a resident instructor at The Survival University. Through guided nature immersion, movement, observation, and shared experience, you will explore what it means to feel more present in your body, more attentive to the land, and more confident outdoors.
This program welcomes women who are curious about rewilding, whether you already spend time in the backcountry or are beginning to build that relationship. Bring a willingness to participate, learn, and step beyond familiar routines. There is room for laughter and conversation, quiet reflection, and the satisfaction of learning something through your own hands and senses.
What rewilding looks like here
For Jess, rewilding means renewing connection with self, land, and community through direct experience. A guided walk becomes a chance to notice seasonal changes and the plants around you. A sit spot gives you time to observe before acting. A shared field task becomes an opportunity to practice communication, patience, and resourcefulness. These experiences connect practical outdoor learning with awareness of how you respond to unfamiliar surroundings.
Yoga, mindful movement, and simple grounding practices invite you to notice your breath, tension, and attention. Jess draws on more than 15 years of teaching yoga and meditation to help participants explore ways to settle, reconnect with their bodies, and respond thoughtfully to discomfort. The emphasis is on practices you can learn and carry into daily life, with space to participate at an appropriate level for your body.

Learning through experience
The program combines guided activities, practical participation, and time to reflect on what you notice. Jess helps connect the outdoor experience to resilience: recognizing your needs, working with changing conditions, asking useful questions, and learning alongside others. Plant activities focus on careful observation, responsible identification, and respect for the living landscape. The final activity plan will reflect the season, field conditions, and the needs of the group.
You will have opportunities to practice paying attention, becoming more comfortable in a remote setting, and communicating within a group. Reflection and journaling help turn those experiences into useful lessons about your habits, confidence, and relationship with nature. Time away from everyday distractions makes space for that learning to take hold.
